The Managed Insider Threat Resource Library (abbreviated as MIThRL and pronounced “myth-ril”) is a free and openly available aggregation of various resources within the insider threat space.

MIThRL was created to address a fairly large gap which exists in the documentation of available research, articles, tools, etc. that are specific to working on insider threat problems.

The persistence of this gap has allowed vendors to fill much of the problem space with faux “white papers” and shallow articles that serve as marketing materials first and actionable guidance second.

MIThRL aims to curate resources in a manner that is reasonably vendor agnostic, putting a greater emphasis on knowledge sharing rather than procurement. Despite that intent, there remains some resource items that originate from vendors or other paid services that still manage to offer a reasonable amount of insight. Those items will be captured within MIThRL but in no way serve as an endorsement or support of the tool or related company.

MIThRL is built and maintained on Notion.
